Introduction to Epson RTC Module

EPSON Real-Time Clock Module (RTC):

All models come with a built-in 32.768kHz quartz crystal component and oscillation circuit, featuring ultra-low power consumption, high-precision timing, and various functional options support such as Wake-up Timers, Power Switch, Time Stamp, or high-precision temperature compensation functions. In addition, with a super compact product package size for flexible design options, it is highly suitable for IoT modules, wearable devices, network equipment, monitoring systems, and high-reliability automotive applications.

Main features:

• Ultra-low power consumption: Even if the microcontroller unit (MCU) enters sleep mode, the RTC module can still operate independently to record time.
• High precision time: Many models of RTC module include temperature compensation circuits in order to maintain high-precision timing within a wide operating temperature range (e.g., -40 to +105 degrees).
• Low power consumption and high stability oscillation circuit: Because a 32.768kHz quartz crystal is encapsulated internally, there is no need for any external oscillation circuit components (such as load capacitors and quartz crystal elements) exposed on the circuit board. The RTC module has high reliability, making it suitable for industrial or automotive applications, and can operate in harsh working environments (high/ low temperatures, high humidity, or condensation issues).
• AEC-Q100 / AEC-Q200 compliance:Multiple models are complied with the regulations of automotive parts design and manufacturing.
